About CiderAuction
The idea for CiderAuction came on a tractor planting spring wheat in Washington’s Columbia Basin, not long after CiderCon 2016 in Portland. We needed a way to get juice from our apples to craft cider makers looking for the specific tannin and acid content unique to each cider apple variety. Talking with several university experts, advertising each jug, bucket, or barrel of cider juice online sounded promising. We could provide well documented ingredients to talented and diverse cider makers across the country. The idea sounded great, in the tractor at least…
The CiderAuction concept of carefully documenting cider apple juice origins makes sense for both growers wanting to showcase their unique apples and cider makers looking for specific apples to experiment with for their next best cider.
